Young 3’s Program
Young 3-year-olds’ primary focus is fostering independence, building social skills and developing friendships.  Through a combination of structured and free-play activities, they learn to follow two-step directions, manage a routine, accomplish simple jobs, take responsibility, be creative, share, work alone or with others and show compassion.  Classes introduce them to letters, sounds, counting and identifying numbers 1-10 and pre-writing skills.  Fine-motor development is encouraged through hands-on projects using a variety of mediums.  Music, movement, manners and prayer are also part of their daily routine.

The children in 3’s classes continue to work on their social skills, teamwork, expressing themselves and taking personal responsibility.  The goals for this age group are to function comfortably in a classroom setting, transition seamlessly between tasks, interact respectfully with peers and develop a joy of learning.  They vary between working independently, one-on-one, in small groups and in large groups.  They learn to follow multi-step directions, understand relationships, cut count, recite the alphabet, print their names, identify shapes, letters, sounds, colors and more.

4-Year-Old (Pre-K) Program
The primary focus for children in 4’s classes is preparation for kindergarten.  Independence, joy of learning, exploration, creativity and academic endeavors take center stage.  Children recite the pledge, days, months, seasons, numbers, letters, colors, shapes and prayer.  They use chants, songs, stories, finger plays, poems and projects to help them recognize and reinforce these things as well as to develop a love of art and literature.  Exposure to beginning reading and writing skills, further fine and gross motor development, and science, nature and social projects help to prepare them for kindergarten.  There is a continued emphasis on social skills, manners, responsibility, life skills and classroom etiquette as well.
